If you’ve ever thought about creating a strong bond with the ancestors, Samhain is the time to do it. As the veil thins, ancestors are closer than ever, making it the perfect time to begin forging a connection.
Feeling a tie with those who went before us can make you feel more grounded in yourself, your life story and your place in the world. My personal journey with the ancestors has been deeply satisfying, and I would like to share with you a few things I have learned along my journey.
When I think of ancestor communication, I am often reminded of the Greek myth of Circe and Odysseus’ descent into the Underworld.

When Odysseus wanted to get back to his home of Ithaca, the sorceress Circe instructed him on how to reach the Underworld to hear the advice of Tiresias and other important spirits.
